Crimea's authorities guarantee most comfortable and safe holidays for tourists
This year, Crimean authorities expect to play host to about three million Russian travelers
MOSCOW, July 02. /ITAR-TASS/. Crimea’s authorities are creating the most comfortable and safe environment for tourists travelling to the Crimean Black Sea coast, the Russian republic's Minister of Resorts and Tourism, Yelena Yurchenko, told a Moscow-Simferopol teleconference at ITAR-TASS on Wednesday.
“It is absolutely safe here,” Yurchenko said. “All those accommodation facilities recommended on the website of the Crimean Ministry of Health Resorts and Tourism — and we want to draw our potential tourists’ attention to these facilities — all of them have been approved so that we can say that they are safe.”
“Crimea’s Sanitary and Epidemiological Service, Ministry of Emergency Situations and other relevant institutions are constantly working during the holiday season,” she said. “We are doing everything possible for tourists’ safety. We are creating all necessary conditions for tourists to feel most comfortable and safe in Crimea.”
“The tourist season in Crimea has started successfully,” the minister said, adding that more than a million tourists visited the peninsula since the beginning of the year.
“Not only Russian and foreign tourists, but also those Ukrainian holidaymakers who are used to travelling to the peninsula will visit Crimea if there is no hindrance at the border.”
Official statistics record about six million tourists travelling to the Crimean Black Sea coast each year. Market operators estimate that about two million are Russians. This year, Crimean authorities expect to play host to about three million Russian travelers.
