Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has declared termination of the ceasefire regime earlier

MOSCOW, July 01. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State John Kerry, said that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s decision not to extend the truce regime undermined earlier agreements reached by the Russian, German, French and Ukrainian leaders and unleashed a new spiral of bloodshed with unpredictable consequences, the Russian foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

“The Russian foreign minister said it was inadmissible to connive at Kiev’s policy of using force against protest movements in Ukraine’s southeastern regions and called on the United States to use its possibilities to persuade the Ukrainian authorities that the course they had opted for was pernicious,” the ministry said.

The conversation was initiated by the American side.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has declared termination of the ceasefire regime in the much-troubled southeast regions of the country, Donetsk and Luhansk. Along with it, he claimed he would be ready to resume it if all the side observed provisions of his peace plan.
