EMERCOM aviation takes over 1,000 Ukrainian refugees from Rostov to other regions
On arrival refugees are distributed in recreation facilities, boarding houses and camp
ROSTOV-ON-DON, June 30, /ITAR-TASS/. Number of Ukrainian refugees, whom the jets of the Ministry for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (EMERCOM) evacuated from Russia’s southern Rostov region to other parts of Russia, has exceed a thousand people, Marina Chernyavskaya, a spokeswoman for EMERCOM’s Rostov regional branch told Itar-Tass.
“Saturday, one of our jets took more than 200 people to Dagestan (a region in North Caucasus - Itar-Tass),” she said. “Sunday afternoon, a total of 121 passengers took a flight from Rostov to Stavropol, and one more jet delivered 117 refugees to Volgograd late at night.”
“On the whole, the number of people taken by our jets to other regions stands at over 1,000 now,” Chernyavskaya said.
Upon arrival to the cities of destination, the refugees get accommodation at social facilities like tourist camps, holiday centers or summer camps for children. Some people are offered private lodgings provided by volunteers.
