MOSCOW, June 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Fourteen new foreign ambassadors will present their credentials to Russian President Vladimir on Friday, the Kremlin press service reported on Thursday.

They include the newly-arrived ambassadors of Germany, Libya, Algeria, Pakistan, Argentina, Colombia and Qatar as well as Burundi, Kazakhstan, Burkina Faso, Tajikistan, Samoa, Jamaica and Lesotho.

All foreign ambassadors who arrive to work in Russia are to present their credentials to the Russian president. The presentation of credentials, a letter from the leaders of the respective foreign countries with a request to trust their diplomatic representative in Russia, symbolizes the beginning of a diplomat’s official term of office in this country.

As a rule, from 10 to 20 ambassadors who arrive to work in Russia over the past few months are invited to the ceremony held at the Alexander Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace several times a year. The mandatory attributes include the president’s address to the foreign diplomats; a presidential photo with every ambassador and a glass of champagne at the end of the ceremony’s official part in honor of the start of the diplomats’ work in Moscow.

The Russian leader is accompanied by a foreign policy adviser and the foreign minister.
