Putin and Netanyahu discuss Palestinian-Israeli settlement, Iran and Syria

MOSCOW, June 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have held a telephone conversation to discuss the process of Palestinian-Israeli settlement, the Iranian nuclear program and the situation around Syria, the Kremlin’s press-service said. The telephone conversation had been initiated by the Israeli side.

“It has been agreed to go ahead with regular exchanges of opinion on topics of mutual interest,” the Kremlin said.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who is currently on a visit to Moscow, met with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev to discuss the situation in the Middle East.

“I would like to discuss general situation with due account of a large number of problems in your region and talk development of economic ties,” Medvedev said.

Later in the day, Abbas is expected to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
