MOSCOW, June 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has ordered assignment of 240 million roubles (about $705,880) to the southern Rostov region where refugees keep streaming from war-torn Ukraine.

The money is allocated for the establishment of temporary accommodation centres and provision of meals for Ukrainian nationals crossing into Russia.

More than 14,000 people are being sheltered, a Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations spokesman told ITAR-TASS on Tuesday.

Alexander Drobyshevsky reported that 211 temporary accommodations have been established in regions of Russia’s Central, Southern and North Caucasian federal districts, to accommodate more than 14,200 people, including almost 6,500 children.

“An ‘emergency situation regime’ has been imposed in 32 near-border municipalities of the Rostov region, three municipalities of the (southern Russia) Stavropol region and in Sevastopol (Crimea),” he said.

Most of those fleeing had gone to Rostov region and Crimea, he said, adding that to lighten the burden on these regions, people were being moved by "air ferries" to refugee centres in other regions.
