A big show took place this weekend in Russia's Moscow Region to mark the presentation of the new symbol of the Russian army. T-72 tanks performed a dance, Su-25 attack planes painted a trace the colours of the Russian national flag in the sky over the Alabino testing range. Servicemen of the Russian airborne forces showed their skills in martial arts. The famous aerobatic team Russkiye Vityazi (Russian Knights) concluded the show.

The new symbol of the Russian army is a red, white and blue coloured five-pointed star, a traditional symbol of battle honors. The star is cut with a point blank stripe symbolizing stability.
