MOSCOW, June 21 (Itar-Tass) - Miners were evacuated from a coalmine in the Kemerovo region because of a fire, a source at the regional department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry told Itar-Tass.

The fire was discovered when a well was drilled in the Osinnikovskaya mine on Saturday morning. The work was halted, and 199 miners were being evacuated, the source said.

Rescuers were working at the site.
