MOSCOW, June 20. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia has accommodated over 9,000 Ukrainian refugees at temporary shelters, the acting chief of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s (EMERCOM) National Crisis Management Centre, Anatoly Yelizarov, said on Friday.

“The anti-crisis management system has started functioning, with 200 temporary accommodation centres readied,” he said at a meeting of the governmental emergencies commission headed by EMERCOM Minister Vladimir Puchkov. “More than 9,000 refugees have been placed in 114 of them. Meals, medical and psychological assistance are being provided to them.”

Three mobile temporary shelters are reported to have been opened and another three are being put up in Crimea and the southern Russian Rostov Region.

“The aircraft has delivered 40-tonne humanitarian cargoes on board. These are tents, personal hygiene products, equipment, clothes and many other things,” the spokesman said, adding that all those items were meant for a new tent camp for 500 persons to be set up near the city of Novoshakhtinsk bordering on Ukraine.

That would be the fourth tent camp for temporary accommodation of Ukrainian refugees, he said.

Russia’s Emergencies Ministry continues bringing humanitarian cargoes to Russian regions requesting aid for Ukrainian people.

Three ministry’s planes with 120 tonnes of humanitarian aid on board have been sent to the Rostov region and Crimea.
