Parliament offers to speed up issue of residence permits in Russia to Ukraine refugees
Presently according to legislation a temporary residence permit is issued for up to three years
MOSCOW, June 17. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s State Duma lower house of parliament offers to introduce amendments in legislation to speed up issue of temporary residence permits in Russia to refugees from Ukraine, Chairman of the State Duma committee on constitutional legislation and state construction from United Russia Vladimir Pligin said on Tuesday.
“It is important that the Federal Migration Service understands those problems that exist now,” Pligin said at a meeting of the United Russia faction headquarters over monitoring of refugees’ problems and giving assistance to them. “So, administrative sanctions which restrict the term of stay in Russia (currently this term makes 90 days) and which are set in administrative legislation are not applied,” he added.
In the view of the lawmaker, for sanctions not to be applied the federal law should be amended or the procedures of receiving temporary residence permits in Russia should be accelerated.
Presently according to legislation a temporary residence permit is issued for up to three years. The last variant was discussed with Russian migration watchdog, but amendments in the governmental resolution are needed so that the agency would be given an opportunity to accelerate these procedures, the committee head said. “The Federal Migration Service is prepared to give temporary residence permits to all Ukrainian citizens for up to three years,” the committee chairman stated. “So, at the same time we will also settle the problem for Ukrainian citizens to receive quotas for work permits,” he added.
