Russia’s foreign debt in Jan-May down by $54.8 billion

MOSCOW, June 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s foreign debt (including the former Soviet Union’s obligations assumed by Russia) was $54 billion 810.3 million as of June 1, 2014, the Finance Ministry said on Monday, June 16.

The debt stood at $55.79 billion as of January 1, 2014 and at $54.875 billion as of May 1, thus decreasing by 1.8% in the first five months of the year and by 0.1% in May.

As of May 1, the debt to official creditors from the Paris Club, which is not subject to restructuring, was $108.5 million (growing by 1.02% during the month); the debt to non-Paris Club creditors was $1.026 billion; the debt to former Soviet bloc countries decreased by 1.01% to $936.6 million; and the debt to the holders of external bonds was practically unchanged at $40.02 billion ($40.04 billion as of May 1).
