MOSCOW, June 11. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia's flag-carrying Aeroflot adds two more flights to Crimea's Simferopol from June 17, increasing daily services to the peninsula to 10, company chief executive Vitaly Saveliev told Russia 24 TV channel.

“We have already carried 110,000 passengers to Crimea,” he said, noting 220,000 tickets already sold and pointing to 350,000 to be flown by the year end.

Aeroflot’s low-cost subsidiary Dobrolyot will carry 200,000, bringing a combined airline total of between 650,000 and 700,000 passengers this year, three times more than in 2013.

And incentives may be on the way to put yet more passengers in the cabin. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev says seat prices are too high on the route to Simferopol.

Economy class seats were available at a good price of 7,000 roubles ($204) only if reserved about a month in advance, he said. Medvedev's deputies have been tasked to devise a better deal for southbound travellers.

Federal Air Transport Agency Rosaviation says total two-way ticket sales through the Transport Clearing House system and through official airline websites totalled 800,000 for the Crimean destinaton at the end of May.
