MOSCOW, June 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Social networks may become the main platform distributing mass media content, Boris Dobrodeyev, acting CEO of Russia’s social network Vkontakte, said at an Internet business forum on Tuesday.

“In the future, social networks will remain the main tool of information consumption. They could become a platform for distributing user-generated and professional content,” Dobrodeyev said.

The advantage and peculiarity of Russian social networks is rooted in services linked to professional content consumption, as compared to US social platforms Twitter and Facebook.

“A removal of professional content from social networks will badly affect their competitiveness,” Dobrodeyev said, adding that old formats of media consumption will become obsolete, while new ones will lack content.
