Father of detained Russian journalist asks Poroshenko for assistance in releasing his son

MOSCOW, June 08, /ITAR-TASS/. The father of Russian TV journalist Andrei Sushenkov detained in Ukraine on Saturday urged inaugurated Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko for assistance in releasing his son.
“Please, help us to return our son. He did not do anything bad. He just did his job,” Andrei’s father said on Zvezda television channel.
On June 6, Ukraine’s National Guard units detained cameraman Andrei Sushenkov and sound engineer Anton Malyshev, both working for the Zvezda television channel, near the Bylbasovka populated locality near Slavyansk in Eastern Ukraine.
The Russian authorities, the European Commission, journalists and human rights activists are demanding the reporters’ immediate release.
