Russian PM instructs to give urgent assistance to victims of Siberia's flooding

MOSCOW, June 05. /ITAR-TASS/. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has instructed the Cabinet to give all the necessary assistance to the victims of the recent flooding in Siberia.

The prime minister urged to do everything possible to render quick assistance to the flood victims and called on all the related departments to join common efforts.

"Since the weather is not stable there the situation should be in the scope of our attention for a long time yet," the prime minister said.

The Russian government will make a resolution on Thursday to allocate 4 billion rubles to regions hit by natural calamities, Medvedev said.

Russia's Emergencies Ministry has reported that a total of 18,000 houses were flooded and around 34,000 people had to be evacuated from their homes. Two people were reported killed, and two more missing in the flooded zone.
