MOSCOW, June 02 /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s infantry will take part in five international military exercises until the end of 2014 as part of the summer training period, the Russian Defense Ministry’s press office said on Monday.

The Russian Armed Forces plan to hold about 50 tactical and special tactical training exercises, as well as over 2,000 live firing drills, the press office said.

“From July, formations and units of Russia’s land troops will take part in five joint peacekeeping and anti-terrorist drills with units of foreign armies,” the Russian Defense Ministry said.

This year, Russia’s southern military district will hold the Russian-Indian Indra-2014 military exercises while the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will hold the Selenga-2014 peacekeeping drills on the territory of Mongolia.

The Enduring Brotherhood-2014 military exercises will take place in Kyrgyzstan and the Frontier-2014 drills will be held with the participation of troops from the CSTO member states on the Cherbakul firing range in the Chelyabinsk Region in the Urals while the Russian-Chinese exercises, Peace Mission-2014, are planned to be held in China.

Russia’s strategic Far East command and staff exercises Vostok-2014 in September will be the Russian Armed Forces’ main combat training event during this period, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

Russia also plans to complete the construction of the first multiservice training center in the western military district in the settlement of Mulino in the Nizhny Niovgorod Region to provide hi-tech training to the district’s servicemen. Similar multiservice training centers are planned to be built in other Russian military districts.

Russia’s infantry will continue to receive new and modernized armaments and combat hardware, such as Strelets drones, Tigr-M armored vehicles, S-300V4 (SA-12 Giant/Gladiator) air defense missile systems, Tor-M2U antiaircraft missile systems, Iskander-M (SS-26 Stone) tactical missile systems, Tornado-G multiple launch rocket systems, Msta-S self-propelled howitzers, Khrizantema-S self-propelled antitank missile systems and modernized T-72B3 tanks and BTR-82A armored personnel carriers.
