MOSCOW, May 27. /ITAR-TASS/. Turkey calls for positive development of relations between Russia and NATO, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said on Tuesday after a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
“We discussed in detail the general schemes of interaction and possible co-operation in Afghanistan,” Davutoglu said. “We also called for respect for international agreements, including the Montreux Convention (on the Black Sea straits regime),” he added.
“Turkey has never wanted Russia-NATO relations to return to the ‘cold war’ epoch. We are for the positive development of these relations,” Davutoglu stressed.
