SIMFEROPOL, May 26. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on the second day of his trip to the Crimean Federal District will visit the famous children's holiday camp Artek.

Apart from a trip to the International children's center, the prime minister will hold a conference to review the arrangements for children's holidays, meet with Crimea's acting head Sergey Aksyonov and hold Monday's traditional meeting with deputies prime minister. Medvedev also plans to visit an Olympic sports training center in Alushta.

The International children's camp Artek had been inaugurated in 1925. Nowadays, the camp is far from its best condition. However, at least 4,000 children are expected to spend their holidays there this summer. Overall, Crimea's 57 children's camps and 10 sanatoriums are ready to receive guests this summer. There are nine children's camps and two sanatoriums in Sevastopol. Before the end of May, a survey of all those centers is to be completed, after which it will be decided to what extent they meet sanitary requirements.

On Sunday Medvedev arrived in the Crimean Federal District, visited Sevastopol where he inspected, in particular, the provisional center of the Federal Migration Service and presented Russian passports to three local residents.

As the leader of the United Russia party (URP), Medvedev received citizens at the Sevastopol public reception office of the URP Chairman. Questions raised by local residents concerned social welfare, education, culture, assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 and to the disabled. On the basis of people's applications, the Premier gave specific assignments to respective ministries and through the URP channels.

This is already the second trip to Crimea by Medvedev: March 31, he held a visiting session of the government here. During the current trip, the prime minister is accompanied by his deputies Igor Shuvalov, Dmitry Kozak, Arkady Dvorkovich, Olga Golodets, Dmitry Rogozin, Sergei Prikhodko, Yuri Trutnev, and Alexander Khloponin, as well as Ministers Dmitry Livanov, Vladimir Puchkov, Veronika Skvortsova, Maxim Topilin, Oleg Savelyev, and Sergey Aksyonov, interim head of Crimea.
