MOSCOW, May 13. /ITAR-TASS/. Most topical aspects of Russian-Hungarian relations and Ukraine developments were in the focus of Tuesday’s talks between Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov and Deputy State Secretary for Security Policy at the Hungarian Foreign Ministry Szabolcs Takacs, a Russian Foreign Ministry official said, adding that the Hungarian high-ranking diplomat arrived in Moscow for inter-ministerial consultations.

“During the talks, the two sides exchanged views on the most topical aspects of bilateral relations,” the official said, adding, “The interlocutors pointed to the upward development of Russian-Hungarian cooperation and consistent implementation of the agreements signed during the Moscow meeting between the Russian and Hungarian presidents, Vladimir Putin and Viktor Orban, on January 14, 2014.” According to the Russian ministerial official, “the two parties pointed to the huge importance of the fact that bilateral trade and economic relations have a solid basis in the form of big investment projects, in particular the projects for construction Hungarian section of the South Stream gas pipeline and enlargement of the Paks NPP.”

“Titov and Takacs considered contacts in the humanitarian, scientific and educational spheres, which have got colossal potential for further interaction,” the diplomatic official said, adding that the sides also discussed ways for improving legal basis of bilateral relations. In addition, they considered Ukraine’s developments.
