Russian government to decide on ways to support businesses in Kaliningrad region

KALININGRAD, May 13. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev promised that the government will quickly find ways to support businesses in the Kaliningrad region.

After a conference over the operation of special economic zone, Medvedev told Kaliningrad region governor Nikolai Tsukanov that "although we are always skeptical about all kinds of conferences, many officials responsible for the development of the economy and transport were present at this one, so it was important in mapping out ways for the development of the region after the transitional period."

This issue concerns everybody and it is crucial for business development and social situation in the region, Medvedev said.

He also called for preserving and developing the social infrastructure in the Kaliningrad region and building more kindergartens and educational facilities there.
