Putin suggests to Lukashenko discussing further Customs Union cooperation
Russia and Belarus constitute a union state and have a high degree of integration
MOSCOW, May 08. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday suggested to his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko discussing further cooperation as part of the Customs Union, which also comprises Kazakhstan, and the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union.
“I am very much glad to talk to you on the entire complex of bilateral relations. I mean both economics and the social sphere. And of course a few words on our joint steps in the framework of the Customs Union and our plans to create the Eurasian Economic Union,” Putin said when opening a meeting with Lukashenko.
In turn, Lukashenko said that the day before he spent half a day in the Russian government where he was discussing and coordinating the treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and his deputies.
