MOSCOW, April 17./ITAR-TASS/. The Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Q&A live session answered the question about the possibility of accession Alaska to Russia.
"Faina Ivanovna, my dear, why do you want Alaska?" - Vladimir Putin laughed.
Putin recalled that Alaska was sold in the 19th century for $7.2 million in gold. He also noted that Russia is a northern country, 70% of its territory belong to the North and Far North. "Let's not to exaggerate," the head of the state suggested.
