BEIJING, April 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has dismissed Kiev’s accusations Russia is out to disrupt the forthcoming Geneva meeting.

“When you hear those who run the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry today say that Russia is afraid of the Geneva meeting or wishes to disrupt it, do not believe them, this is not true,” Lavrov told a news conference following talks with his Chinese counterpart. “Don’t believe the statements saying that at the meeting there will be a discussion not of Ukraine’s internal crisis, but of the steps Russia should take.”

“This is a flagrant lie,” Lavrov said. “We are gathering precisely for the purpose of discussing Ukraine’s internal crisis.”

“We have agreed on a draft agenda — de-escalation, the disarmament of illegal armed groups, a constitutional reform and elections. This is precisely what should be discussed,” Lavrov said.

He added that Moscow was prepared for the Geneva meeting by and large, but if force were used in the south-east of the country, the chances of holding it would be disrupted.
