Blood shed in Ukraine again in presentiment of civil war — Medvedev
“This is very regrettable,” the Russian prime minister noted
MOSCOW, April 15. /ITAR-TASS/. Blood is shed in Ukraine again, the country is in premonition of a civil war, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday.
“This is very regrettable,” the country’s prime minister noted.
“The cause of Ukrainian tragedy is that legitimate authorities even did not try to preserve law and order in the regions of the country, when captures of administrative buildings started there,” he added.
“That is why such authorities were held cheap. And illegitimate leaders, on the contrary, are attempting to restore the order, which they destroyed by themselves, rising to power as a result of an armed coup. They are falling into their own trap,” Medvedev believes.
“The action triggered counteraction. An offense against the state (the coup in Kiev) — and popular protests in the regions. A chain reaction of events, political and economic,” the head of Russia’s Cabinet stressed.
The prime minister added that Ukraine’s citizens should personally participate in creating their state based on nations’ equality and equality of their languages.
“Today, many people came to understand the true intentions of people, who seized power in Kiev. It means the path to a just society came into view. It is that the people could independently choose its destiny. To express its will by legal means. To take part in forming the contemporary Ukrainian state, based on the equality of nations and languages,” Medvedev emphasizes. “Absolutely independently. Without usurpers, nationalists and criminals. Without tanks and armored vehicles. And without secret visits of CIA chief.”
