BANGKOK, April 06. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian national Yana Strizheus who was abducted in Thailand together with her compatriot Alexei Slabinsky left Thailand on Saturday, April 5, police on Phuket island reports.

Strizheus and Alexei Slabinsky who used to rent a house on Phuket for about a year went missing on March 7. Their relatives reported their disappearance to police.

“Yana Strizheus testified to investigators and to court. Her absence will not affect the investigation,” police went on to say.

According to police, the kidnappers abducted the Russians, allegedly for Slabinsky’s debts, and kept them on a leased villa for some time. Yana Strizheus spent several days on the villa where the abductors tried to rape her and subjected her to other harassments. After that, the abductors took Strizheus to one of the hotels on Phuket and left her there. Police claims that Strizheus tried to commit a suicide cutting her hands and neck with a broken bottle.

Alexei Slabinsky is believed to have been killed shortly after the abduction. His body was found in the jungle late in March. It was impossible for police to identify the corpse.

“We are 80% sure that we have found his body. Identifying it was impossible but the description of the clothes in which Slabinsky was seen alive for the last time matches what we have found. Now, we are waiting for the DNA test,” Phuket’s chief police officer said.

Two Russians are suspected of killing Slabinsky. One of them entered Thailand on false Ukrainian passport.
