Russia ready to grant citizenship to Ukrainians employed by Russian companies – deputy PM
There are many Ukrainians who are working in Russia, especially at shipyards in the Far East
NOVOSIBIRSK, April 04. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia is ready to grant its citizenship to Ukrainian nationals employed with Russian companies on easy terms, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Friday.
“There are many Ukrainians who are working in Russia, especially at shipyards in the Far East,” he said at a meeting with students of the Novosibirsk State Technical University. “As for those who have already arrived and are working here, I think, we will be able to grant easy terms for highly-qualified specialists. This is desirable migration.”
At the same time, he noted that ethnic Russians living abroad should be granted similar privileges. “The Russian State Duma [lower parliament house] has voted in the second reading in favour of a new law on easy-term citizenship granting procedures for Russian speakers, so, our compatriots will enjoy priority in receiving citizenship,” he said. “In general, this problem is big and serious.
