Government suggests to increase visas maximum validity to six months

MOSCOW, March 21. /ITAR-TASS/. The Russian government has approved a bill facilitating entry rules for foreign nationals, the cabinet of ministers reported on its official website on Friday.

The government suggests cutting the number of documents for foreigners who want to apply for a tourist visa to Russia and increasing visas maximum validity from 30 days to six months. The government also plans to make these visas multiple.

The bill makes entrance easier for foreigners who travel to Russia with an aim to develop and maintain cultural, scientific-technological, socio-political, sport and youth ties.

The document also provides for the application of a principle of mutuality with regards to validity of business, private and tourist visas that will make it possible to introduce significant visa relaxations for the citizens of countries that are ready to relax visa regulations for Russian nationals on a reciprocal basis.
