Ratification of treaty on Crimea's reunification with Russia expected to be unanimous
Duma Vice-speaker Sergei Zheleznyak said that the State Duma would do everything possible to carry through the process of the ratification within the shortest time
MOSCOW, March 18. /ITAR-TASS/. State Duma Deputy Speaker, Secretary General of the United Russia party Sergei Neverov is confident that the Russian parliament will unconditionally support the treaty on Crimea's and Sevastopol's accession to the Russian Federation.
“I am confident that the Russian parliament will unanimously support the bill submitted by the president of the Russian Federation and ratify the treaty on reunification of Crimea and Sevastopol with the Russian Federation. This could be seen by the very atmosphere in the Kremlin hall where the president was making his address on the occasion of this really historic event,” Neverov said after President Putin had delivered his special address.
“The signing of the treaty on the reunification of Crimea and Sevastopol with Russia will herald a new stage in Russia's development as a strong, independent state which main principle in foreign politics is ensuring peace, justice and respect for the will of the people,” Neverov said.

“President Putin's address to the Federal Assembly devoted to the recognition of the independence of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and their accession to the Russian Federation is a first ever precedent in the history of our country. President Putin has clearly and firmly specified Russia's position in respect to the fraternal people of Crimea, which gave no reason to the western opponents to call into question the fact that the future of the multinational Crimea and Sevastopol is with Russia,” Zheleznyak said.
