Ukrainian citizens permanently living in Crimea, Sevastopol recognized as Russian citizens
MOSCOW, March 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukrainian citizens and stateless people who live permanently in the Republic of Crimea or in the Crimean city of Sevastopol are recognized as Russian citizens from the day of the Republic of Crimea’s reunification with Russia and formation of new constituent entities in Russia, reads the treaty signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leadership of the Republic of Crimea in the Russian capital on Tuesday.
“From the day of Republic of Crimea’s reunification with the Russian Federation and formation of new constituent entities in the Russian Federation Ukrainian citizens and stateless people who live permanently in the Republic of Crimea or in Sevastopol, a Crimean city of federal importance, as of now are recognized as citizens of the Russian Federation, except for people who will state about their desire to keep citizenship of another country for them and (or) their underage children within a month from this day or stay stateless people,” fifth clause of the treaty runs.
