On Sunday, Crimea will hold a referendum deciding whether the peninsula will join Russia

MOSCOW, March 14. /ITAR-TASS/. Moscow will cooperate with Sevastopol regardless of Crimea’s referendum returns, Moscow city mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on Friday.

He expressed the hope that the Sevastopol city mayor would visit Moscow soon to develop a new agreement on cooperation between the two cities, taking it to a new level.

“In any case, whatever results of the referendum are, we will not leave Sevastopol and our fraternal nation in need,” he said.

On Sunday, Crimea will hold a referendum deciding whether the peninsula will join Russia or will return to the 1992 Constitution that envisages broader autonomy within Ukraine’s borders.
