Russian vacationers in Crimea feel safe and sound, the Russian tourism agency says
MOSCOW, March 14, /ITAR-TASS/. Russian vacationers in Crimea are not facing any problems linked to security or quality of service at local health resorts, Grigory Sarishvili, the deputy head of the Russian Federal Agency for Tourism, who has just returned from a working trip to Crimea, told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
Sarishvili discussed prospects for the forthcoming summer season in Crimea with the leaders of the autonomy’s Ministry of Tourism.
“We discussed accommodation issues. Children’s tourism and ways of increasing tourist flows to Crimea were separate items on the agenda,” Sarishvili went on to say, noting there were problems with preliminary bookings to Crimea.
“But we hope to remove this problem soon,” Sarishvili added.
Russian tour operators are actively cooperating with their Crimean colleagues. Representatives of Crimean health-improvement centers and holiday homes will take part in the Intourmarket 2014 exhibition in Moscow on March 15-18 and will discuss prospects of cooperation with Russian tour operators at a conference on March 17.
"The Russian Association of Tour Operators is planning to sign a cooperation agreement with their Crimean colleagues,” Sarishvili said.
Besides, a Russian delegation led by Russian Deputy Culture Minister Alla Manilova will attend a big conference on tourism that opens in Crimean capital Simferopol on March 14.
There are few Russian vacationers in Crimea at the moment. But those who are there feel comfortable except for certain inconveniences caused by restrictions on the movement of ground transport.
