MOSCOW. March 12. /ITAR-TASS/. Moscow's Basmanny court arrested  the leader of Ukraine's Right Sector Dmytro Yarosh in absentia.

Moscow's Basmanny court Wednesday sustained a motion to arrest the leader of the Ukrainian nationalist organization Right Sector in absentia. Dmytro Yarosh is incriminated crimes under Part 2, Article 205.2 of the Russian Criminal code: public calls for terrorist activities and extremism realized with the use of mass media.

In arguing for Yarosh's arrest, the investigator said the suspect was in the territory of a foreign state hiding from Russian law-enforcement bodies, and possibly engaging in criminal activity.

"Yarosh has been put on the international wanted list; we're asking the court to sanction his arrest in absentia," the investigator said at the Wednesday hearing.

Yarosh was represented by appointed counsel Alexander Nikiforov who requested to postpone the hearing to study the case files. The motion was dismissed. The defense is planning to appeal to Moscow City Court.

Earlier, Yarosh was put on international wanted list.

Yarosh posted a call on the VK.com social network, urging Chechen separatist leader Doku Umarov to support Ukraine's anti-Russian forces "with weapons in arms".

"Ukrainians have always supported the liberation struggle of the Chechen and other Caucasian peoples. Now it’s the time for you to support Ukraine," Yarosh wrote. "As the Right Sector leader, I urge you to step up the fight. Russia is not as strong as it seems.”

During the first Chechen war, Yarosh was among several Ukrainian militants fighting against Russian troops. His post has caused indignation in republics of the North Caucasus and among the Russian public and lawmakers.
