Several media outlets reported earlier with the reference to a source in law enforcement agencies about Serdyukov’s amnesty. Several electronic editions have made a report confirming this information with the reference to lawyer Padva on Friday.

“They are lying, I did not say anything like that, we do not give any comments in this regard,” Padva said.

Serdyukov’s second lawyer Konstantin Rivkin also refused to give comments on amnesty speculaitions.

Several sources close to investigation told Itar-Tass earlier that former minister Serdyukov accused of negligence was amnestied and the criminal case against him terminated.

“No other cases are being investigated against Serdyukov,” the source said. He noted that the decision to amnesty Serdyukov “was taken long ago.” Itar-Tass does not have official comments on this information.

The source also noted that Serdyukov had asked the detective himself to amnesty him. “He is awarded with state medals, including for combat actions in 2008. The crime he is accused of is not grave, therefore, he falls under the terms of amnesty,” the source said.
