Detectives will check whether those who threaten to do away with Russian governors are mentally stable

MOSCOW, March 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Criminal cases have been filed over threats to Russian governors from a far-right Ukrainian organization in four Russian regions, spokesperson for the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Friday.

“Over the past day, threats for use of violence against governors of several Russian regions and their relatives are coming over dramatic events in Ukraine. Investigative bodies of the Russian Investigative Committee in Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk and Voronezh regions opened criminal cases under Article 318 Part 1 of Russian Criminal Code for threats to use violence against state officials and their relatives,” he said.

Detectives will check whether those who threaten to do away with Russian governors are mentally stable, Markin said.

“Despite absurdity, nonsense and even silliness of such demands these threats are taken in earnest. Thus, the Russian Investigative Committee intends to find criminals making these threats and bring them to criminal responsibility according to Russian laws, certainly checking whether they are sane,” the spokesperson said.
