The state of affairs does not correlate with the country’s opportunities or ambitions, Dmitry Rogozin said

MOSCOW, March 07. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin has called for off-budget sources to finance the space activities and for development of the private-state partnership in the sphere.

“This is linked directly to our role in the international space market,” he told a meeting at Roscosmos (Russian Federal Space Agency). “It is really a shame that in the space market, in the market of space services, Russia’s share is three percent.” The state of affairs does not correlate with the country’s opportunities or ambitions, he added.

The reserves in the sector are connected first of all with coordination of the work.

“Here, the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) after organization of the United Rocket-Space Corporation should give directions to this market of space services,” Rogozin said.

“It is high time to extract revenues from obtaining unique means the Russian space industry has now.” Here, another reserve is the state-private partnership. “We are at the edge of seeing new private organizations to replace the state-run ones, the organizations, which will develop their presence in the space services’ market, including the service of boosting space apparatuses.”

He stressed Roscosmos’ major role and the importance of coordinating its work with the private sector.
