RYAZAN, March 05. /ITAR-TASS/. More than 100 Ukrainians have applied for Russian citizenship with the Federal Migration Service (FMS) branch in central Russia’s Ryazan Region, which is now home to 3,000 Ukrainians, the FMS told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

According to the head of the refugees’ registration department, Galina Pravkina, the relatives of Ukrainian citizens often call for information about the rules of acquiring Russian citizenship. People willing to move to Russia come from different regions, such as the Crimea, the northwestern city of Zhytomyr and southern Nikolayev, she added.

The region’s governor, Oleg Kovalev, previously said he was ready to accept Ukrainians and provide them with work in the agricultural sector and in industry. Major enterprises have already shown their willingness to accept refugees, among them the Yelatomsk Instrument Plant. The vacancies on offer are not only for workers but also potential directors, accountants and managers. Those interested can have the employer’s phone number, said the FMS official.
