The appeal does not automatically imply the ambassador's recall

MOSCOW, March 03. /ITAR-TASS/. The Federation Council (upper house of Russian parliament) has appealed to President Vladimir Putin, making a proposal to recall the Russian ambassador from the United States, Deputy Chairman of the upper house committee on international affairs Vladimir Dzhabarov told journalists on Monday.

“The committee has already appealed to Putin; upper house Speaker Valentina Matviyenko signed the appeal,” Dzhabarov said

The appeal “does not automatically imply the ambassador's recall; the decision rests with the president who acts in accordance with political expediency," Dzhabarov said.
