Noone should take issue with UN in present-day no easy situation

MOSCOW, March 03, 4:23 /ITAR-TASS/. No one should take issue with the UN in the present-day no easy situation, Grigory Karasin, State Secretary and Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister, said in the programme "Sunday Evening with Vladimir Solovyov" on Russia-1 TV channel.

"I think we must by all means available suppport the UN as the only univrrsal machinery for settling many contentious issues. Noone should take issue with the UN in the present-day no easy situation," Karasin emphasized. "However, the 21st century has not got rid, unfortunately, of 'double standards' and geopolitical off-flavours. All this remains part of our life and part of international relations".

"It is very important that we be able to prove our logic in a well-argumented way, calmly, without exaggerations, or reticence," he said. "We have every ground for that".
