KUWAIT CITY, February 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Russia warns against attempts to impose mediation on Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the 3rd ministerial meeting of the Russia-CCASG Strategic Dialogue on Wednesday.

“The situation should be settled within the constitutional framework. We’ve warned about such events,” the Russian minister said.

“The events in Ukraine arouse deep concern. We’ve warned about such development of events. Unfortunately, the agreements, which were reached earlier when the Ukrainian authorities proved goodwill and the readiness for compromises, were wrecked by radical forces and the opposition,” he said.

“When these forces organised the attack on the parliament and were prevented from seizing it they started throwing cocktail bombs and using shotguns,” Lavrov said, adding “Their actions led to losses of lives.”

“I’ve gotten information saying radicals have grenade launchers. Radicals continue the attempts to seize administrative buildings, military units,” he said.

“This is a coup attempt. The opposition, which gave up compromises and was unable to implement the earlier reached agreements, takes most responsibility,” Lavrov said, adding “The West encourages the opposition to the actions outside the legal environment. The West directly flirts with militants and threatens to impose sanctions.
