MOSCOW, February 18. /ITAR-TASS/. Two Russian opposition activists accused of planning riots in the country have denied wrongdoing at the trial.

"Of course I deny the charges. I believe they're absurd," lawmaker's aide Leonid Razvozzhayev told judge Alexander Zamashnyuk at the hearing on the merit that began on Tuesday.

For his part, Udaltsov said he flatly denied the investigator’s arguments.

Proceedings over planning mass disturbances were opened against Udaltsov and Leonid Razvozzhayev after viewing of a film entitled Anatomy of Protest showed a meeting between Russian opposition leaders and Georgian politician Givi Targamadze.

Left Front leader Udaltsov has been under house arrest, and Razvozzhayev has been in custody.

They are facing up to ten years in prison.
