MOSCOW, January 21. /ITAR-TASS/. The situation in respect to the Oleg Naidenov ship is coming back to normal; the ship's crew is making no complaints, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declared at a press conference devoted to the results of the activities of Russian diplomats in 2013.

"The situation is coming back to normal by now. The situation is at least more normal now than it recently was," Lavrov confirmed. "Thanks to support of a number of our foreign partners who have special relations with the authorities of Senegal and we are trying to finally close this problem," Lavrov said.

"The crew has been making no complaints. The restrictions which were created for the crew are absent now. I hope that in a short while all the problems will be settled," Lavrov added.

Asked to comment on the role played by the Greenpeace in this incident, Lavrov admitted it was the topic widely talked about now. Greenpeace representatives did not attempt to conceal that they were involved, Lavrov said. "Such was their role," Lavrov added.

“Similar to many other incidents the sacred thing — environmental protection, was turned into an instrument of achieving political goals or doing business. It is very sad. I hope that the non- governmental organizations will seek to meet the ideals which constitute the basis of civil society and public associations," Lavrov said.
