No signs yet Russian airlines may cancel January 13 flights to Bangkok
MOSCOW, January 10. /ITAR-TASS/. Major Russian airlines have no immediate plans for canceling any flights from Moscow to Bangkok due January 13. Aeroflot and Transaero that make regular flights on this route told Itar-Tass on Friday their schedules for that day remained unchanged. The S7 airlines, operating flights from Bangkok to Novosibirsk, Siberia, also denied any flight cancellation plans.
Previously, a number of large international carriers, like Singapore Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines and Cathay Pacific cancelled over 30 flights to Bangkok due on January 13 on the news the country’s opposition was to stage large-scale protest rallies on that day.
According to the Tourism Council of Thailand, the country’s tourist industry will lose about 18 billion bahts ($594 billion) this January. Experts estimate the number of tourists to Bangkok will drop by 400,000.
