Aerospace Defence Troops to receive S-400 and more radar complexes

MOSCOW, January 08, 12:44 /ITAR-TASS/. Brigades of the Russian Aerospace Defence Troops this year will receive a regimental set of the S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile system, six Nebo-M radar complexes and 23 radar stations of the Podlyot and Sopka types, the Russian Defence Ministry's press service told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

Modernized Desna, Kasta and other radar complexes will be also provided for radio technical units of the troops in 2014.

For the present, the Aerospace Defence Troops have three regimental sets of S-400 Triumph long-range and medium-range systems, 18 combat vehicles of Pantsir missile gun complexes, a Gamma and Nebo radar stations and Fundament automation complexes, the ministry’s press service said.

A ministry official noted the radio technical units in 2013 received about 20 new radar systems of various modifications, including Gamma, Nebo, Podlyot, Sopka, Kasta and VVO stations.
