Five people including two children die in fire in Vologda region

VOLOGDA, January 02, /ITAR-TASS/. Five people, including two children, died in a fire in the town of Sokol in Russia’s Vologda region, the local brunch of the emergency situations ministry told Itar-Tass.
A wooden house, where were two flats, caught fire at about 06:40 Moscow time.
“As the fire brigade arrived, the open flame was in one of the flats already,” the source said. “From the neighbouring flat, the rescuers took out a man, and two people managed to escape on their own.”
In the debris the rescuers found four bodies, and later on - the fifth one. Among the victims were two children.
An investigation is underway.
