MOSCOW, January 01, 10:40 /ITAR-TASS/. An official site on the Internet of Russia’s presidency in the Group of Eight countries is launched at www.g8russia.ru. The site will inform on all events in the Group.

Russia has taken over the presidency for the second time. Compared with the site of its previous chairing, the current page on the Internet is more interactive, dynamic and has more pictures. The colours repeat the white-blue-red colours of the national flag.

The designers have focused on big pictures, which the previous page lacked. The site will offer photo and video reports from all events.

Top news on the front page are rotating, thus it does not look static.

Along with the modern look of the news wire, the main page offers a calendar of the G8 key events, priorities of the Russian presidency, information about the participating countries and information about the wider dialogue - Business 8, Youth 8, and Civil 8.

As for the topics on the site, the new resource offers multimedia content, documents and a special section Russia and G8.

The main page contains links to major social networks, where the Russian presidency has official accounts - Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Reporters will be able to file for accreditation to the events in the framework of the Russian presidency, including the summit due on June 4-5 in Sochi.
