Putin demands to focus on issues of fighting terrorism, preparing for RF G8 presidency

MOSCOW, December 31, 1:25 /ITAR-TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the relevant ministries and agencies during preparations for Russia’s chairmanship in the Group of Eight (G8) to pay special attention to the strengthening of the non-proliferation regime, the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking. The Kremlin official website reports that the President gave such orders to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Internal Affairs, RF Defence Ministry, the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Federal Drug Control Service (FSKN) for the implementation of the tasks that Putin set in his state-of-the-nation address to the Russian Federal Assembly (both houses of RF parliament).

The president also instructed the agencies to pay special attention to these issues during the preparation for the summits of the BRICS group (bringing together Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (CSO) in 2015.
