MOSCOW, December 30. /ITAR-TASS/. Long-distance platforms at southern Russia’s Volgograd railway station have re-opened for passengers after Sunday's bombing, railway operator RZD told Itar-Tass on Monday.

“Passengers travelling on long-distance trains can access platforms through the ground floor,” an RZD official said. “Repair work on the building is underway,” the official added.

Information on train services was being transmitted over the loudspeaker in the precincts of the station's main Volgograd-1 building and at the commuter train station.

Tickets for long-distance trains are on sale at the commuter station, where passenger train services were being located following the blast.

No delays in the movement of long-distance and commuter trains were reported after the attack, the official said.

Latest reports say 17 people died in the explosion. Volgograd authorities have declared three days of mourning from January 1 to 3.
