Express-AM5 satellite delivered to final orbit

MOSCOW, December 27, /ITAR-TASS/. Russia’s Express-AM5 communications satellite has been delivered to the final orbit, the Federal Space Agency (Roscosmos) said.

“The satellite separated from the Briz-M booster and reached the geostationary orbit,” a Roscosmos official told ITAR-TASS.

The satellite was launched on December 26 from Baikonur, Kazakhstan. It is intended for carrying digital television and radio signals across Russia, providing mobile presidential and government communication services, offering multi-service packages and supporting VSAT networks. It is designed to operate for 15 years.
