Russia continues policy to overcome crisis in relations with Georgia

MOSCOW, December 26. /ITAR-TASS/. In 2013, Russia continues the policy to overcome the crisis in relations with Georgia, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

“Within the dialogue on ways to normalize relations both parties succeeded in coordinating conditions for returning several Georgian goods to the Russian market, restoring motor transport service and stepping up cultural, sportive and religious contacts. The Russian Federation expanded categories of Georgian citizens for issuing visas,” the report says.

Within the Geneva discussions on security and stability in Transcaucasia “Russia and Georgia joined efforts to create prerequisites for signing a legally binding agreement on the non-use of force between Georgia and Abkhazia, and Georgia and South Ossetia”, the report says.

“Russia continued assistance to Abkhazia and South Ossetia to restoring the social and economic potential,” the report adds.
