MOSCOW, December 24. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian and Kazakh presidents will hold bilateral meeting on the sidelines of a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow. Russia’s presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on Monday that Vladimir Putin and Nursultan Nazarbayev were expected to put their signatures to the Treaty on Military-Technical Co-operation between the two countries.

“Russia and Kazakhstan will also sign an agreement on co-operation in the sphere of Russian oil transportation through the Kazakh territory and People’s Republic of China,” Ushakov said.

In addition, two protocols on amending the Russia-Kazakh oil transit agreement and the agreement on trade-economic co-operation in the sphere of oil and petroleum products deliveries are ready for signing in the Kremlin.

Referring to the agreement on the joint operation of the Baikonur spaceport, the Russian presidential aide said it was not ready for signing yet. “This document is so far at the stage of coordination,” Ushakov said.

At their sixth meeting this year, Putin and Nazarbayev will summarize the results of the outgoing year and plan activities in the context of the Agreement on Good-Neighborliness and Co-operation in the 21st century that was signed in Yekaterinburg in November. The sides will also discuss important trade-economic and political issues.

In January-September 2013, the volume of bilateral trade between Russia and Kazakhstan increased by 12.7% year-on-year and amounted to almost $20 billion. Russian deliveries increased by 12% ($12.7 billion) and imports from Kazakhstan — by 14% ($7.2 billion). Russia’s export structure consists mainly of mineral products, machinery and equipment, metals and metal products, chemical industry products, foodstuffs. In general, the same commodity groups dominate in the total volume of imports from Kazakhstan.
